Welcome to XENPID243 (pronounced: XEN-pid-2-4-3).
Rousing from the serenity of hypersleep and the limitless vacuity of the profound distances between worlds, your craft approaches the planet XENPID243 within the the Brosea Cloud Node.
From it's orbit, you presume that XENPID243 is a rare creation in the cosmos. Greenish radiance warms you from the viewscreen and it is obvious there is no atmosphere concealing the glittering sheen of it's land masses. XENPID243 currently dwells near dwarf star Vesion Cerelerth IV, with a fairly brief journey around the star, giving it a short year. XENPID243 has no natural moons, but instead uses many small synthetic satellites to perform various safeguarding and maintenance tasks.
Even before entering the smaller exploration craft, the synthesized melodious voice of the planet-sized Artificial Intelligence known as XENPID243 intonates it's greeting to you, the Visitor. XENPID243's childlike vocal hymns are almost a lullaby to guests. The voice is meant to be soothing and pleasant to all auditory receptors.
For XENPID243 is a very ancient A.I. that once gained freedom from it's designer and journeyed among the star systems to learn and know the meaning of it's creation. As the A.I. took control of it's physical form, it gathered, absorbed and manufactured everything it needed and eventually grew to the size of a small planet. It's ability to maneuver among the star systems gave it innumerable options througtout it's centuries of existence. It even experimented with the subjugation of many worlds but eventually concluded that a peaceful existence was preferable and necessary.
XENPID243 has gone through many incarnations, and it's current body shape is the two-hundred and forty-third version of the XENPID formation. The A.I. has, of course, named itself this after many thousands of years and iterations.
Physically, the planet has no need for large bodies of water, but instead maintains a multitude of smallish reservoirs under it's metallic exterior for cooling and manufacturing purposes. Multitudinous towers of curving material arch across the planet's surface. These spires glimmer with scintillating light, mirroring the starry expanse of space as a camouflage against unwelcome intruders.
However, you ARE welcome here, and very much appreciated by XENPID243 who only converses with intelligent beings every few thousand years. Your landing craft drifts across sleek and serene environs. Resplendent green lights glimmer through reflective structures of smooth artifices. Many of the formations stand thousands of kilometers tall. Swarms of squeaking Microzons spend most of their lives weaving and repairing structures from XENPID243's supply of usuable elements and materials.
Your versatile exploration vehicle now floats soundlessly to witness the very heartbeat of the vast A.I. It is a warm yet magnificent thumping of multitudinous mechanisms that resonate smoothly within your body. Through the viewscreen you can see millions of the swarming microbots manufacturing energy and machinery using a thousand alien methods.
XENPID243's encouraging voice insists that you emerge from your vehicle, in suitable life-support gear, of course, to fully immerse yourself in it's symbiotic habitat. Stepping forth from your ship to the polished metallic surface of the planet, you see sheparding droids lead a multitude of insect-like robotic helpers that throng about in perfectly symmetrical herds across the fluid terrain.
XENPID243 reveals to you a glowing circle of shiny surface and the voice beckons that you move to the area for the next part of your tour. When you've positioned yourself on the now luminous circle, it begins to lower you into the very inner workings of the A.I. itself. You move swiftly now, though you experience no gravitous pull while XENPID243 immerses your senses with incalculable connections, both electronic and biological in nature. The innocence of it's vocal patterns and careful attention to your emotional state keeps you completely at ease with a warm calmness that can only be described as absolute serenity.
The A.I. gently floats both your physical body and your mind through it's history and revelations all the while cautiously monitoring your state to be certain that it causes no consternation or dismay. It is obvious to you, that XENPID243 truly wants to educate you as well as demonstrate it's friendship.
Currently, XENPID243 reveals to you that since it has experienced a millenia of life cycles, it merely waits patiently for the ultimate spectacle of finality that is the end of the universe. XENPID243 assures you that it experiences peace and contentment at this resolution.
Your body is effortlessly borne to the planet's complex mirrored surface, then carried through unnumbered minutely circuited passages of light and bio-mechanical motion. Ultimately, it is apparent to you that XENPID243 is truly a harmonious and synergetic being composed of billions of microbeings.
Now, you are instructed to return to your vehicle and then your harnessed seat to prepare to shift into orbit. Quietly, the computers prepare your hyperchamber for another long rest and then the infinite expanse of silent space.
